Weddings
Bequians love a wedding.  Outfits are stylish and elaborate and the entourage may be up to 20 persons including bridesmaids, flower girls, groomsmen, a page boy to carry the rings, a mini-bride and a mini-groom. After the wedding it is common for all the attendants to climb into the back of several open vans tootling around the island in all their finery before settling at a picturesque site to take photographs.

Many strangers have decided to take their vows in Bequia, sometimes with a few family members present, but often by inviting all their family and friends to combine a Caribbean holiday with their celebration of the joyful occasion. If you are considering getting married in Bequia it is best to check with someone who knows the regulations for your license, marriage officer etc. Many hotels and restaurants will offer special arrangements.
