To get here

Bequia is reachable in two different ways - your choice.

1. via small shared-charter plane from a hub such as Barbados into the Bequia Airport. This 50 minute flight is convenient especially for travellers from Canada and Europe whose international flights usually arrive early enough for you to make this connection. Unfortunately some American flights arrive too late for the connecting flight which must arrive in Bequia before dark. These shared charters cannot be booked by travel agents - see regional carriers below.

2. via the main island of St. Vincent on Caribbean Star or LIAT (35 minute flight from Barbados) and then 15 minute taxi (US$10) to the jetty, and by ferry - one hour (US$8.) to Bequia.  This is a bit less expensive but usually takes a little longer.  See regional carriers, and ferry schedule, below.

Note that immigration into Bequia or St. Vincent requires a valid passport and a return ticket. No Visa is required, except from certain Middle Eastern and African countries. When you leave the country you will be required to pay an E.C.$40 departure tax (US$ 16.).

It has always been a bit difficult to get to Bequia which perhaps has protected the island in some ways. It's worth it!
